Council Seeks Youth Dev Policies
Chairman National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Delta chapter, Mr Hope George, has called on governments at all levels to initiate policies that will support the development of youths.
George told newsmen in Asaba that states’ legislatures should expedite action on youth development bills.
He said that the members of the various houses of assembly should try as much as possible to initiate bills that would encourage youth development.
“At their various constituencies, youth development programmes should also constitute major parts of their constituency projects,’’ the NYCN chairman said.
He said that such an approach would go a long way in addressing the problems of unemployment facing the youths.
George urged youths in the country to shun all forms of violence, adding that violence would always hinder the growth of any country.
According to him, development cannot take place where there is violence, but it can only take place in an atmosphere of peace.
