Part of the state Government plan he explained is to anchor the state economy on agriculture and employment generation, noting that there was no way the success recorded in security of the state could be consolidated without providing jobs for the teeming youths.
Already he disclosed that the state government, has commenced talks with a foreign firm that would revitalise the oil palm factory, saying the government was also going to provide agricultural farm in different parts of the state to engage the young people in farming.
The Rivers State Governor said he would not make new electioneering promises but would consolidate on the success recorded with emphasis an security, education and health.
His words,”my target is not only to build those structure alone but to make sure that the teachers who teach there are qualified.
Rt. Hon. Amaechi remarked that once the education sector was fully strengthened, crime would reduce and that health provision would equally reduce poverty.
The governor therefore solicited for the support of the citizenry during the elections and after the elections, while urging them for continual prayers for those in leadership positions.
On the elections, Governor Amaech charged the citizenry to protect their votes and seek accountability from their leaders. He said since a lot of desperate politicians were on parade the only to checkmate them was to vote for the right people.
He urged the people not to be indifferent to political matters, emphasising that the upcoming April polls should be used to assert their right, “ you have to protect your votes if the elections must be free and fair.”
