Kickboxing Referees, Coaches Set For Refresher Course
Kickboxing referees, coaches and athletes in clubs, primary and secondary schools in Lagos State are to undergo a two-day refresher course this month, the Nigeria Kickboxing Federation (NKF) said in Lagos.
NKF Technical Director Cletus Okegbe told newsmen that the course would start at the National Stadium, Lagos today.
Okegbe said the participants would undergo theoretical and practical sessions on the fundamental rules and techniques of the martial art so as to impart the knowledge gained to others.
He said the resource persons were technical experts from the National Institute for Sports.
The technical director explained that the seminar was part of the Federation’s preparation of athletes wishing to participate in the 2010 National Sports Festival in Port Harcourt.
He added that the number of medals to be won at the festival had been increased from 25 to 35, but did not disclose the participation fee.
