Traditional Ruler Seeks Elevation Of Omagwa Stool
The Nye-nwe-eli Omagwa, His Royal Highness, Eze Jacob Orji has appealed to the State Government to upgrade the traditional stool in the Omagwa autonomous community.
Eze Orji made the appeal while speaking to newsmen at his palace in Omagwa, in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
According to the traditional ruler, if the upgradement of Omagwa as an autonomous community in Ikwerre land sails through, then there is need for the traditional stool to be also elevated at least to second class level.
He stated that the community houses a federal parastatal, the Federal Airport Authority, including other government agencies as a way of contributing to the national output.
Eze Orji used the opportunity to disclose plans by the community to celebrate 26th of every December as Omagwa Day, saying the programme is aimed at taking stock of the activities in his kingdom with the view of improving on the lives of the people.
The royal father observed that violence and youth restiveness have reduced drastically and assured that his reign would usher in unity and grassroot development in the area.
Due to lack of manufacturing industries, Eze Orji appealed to investors to come to the community and invest since the community is hospitable, considering the presence of multinationals.
The Omagwa traditional ruler restated his resolve to transform the area, while calling on the Governor Amaechi-led administration to give more attention to the community in the area of infrastructure.
