The Tide GM Assures Physically Challenged Persons Of Support
The General Manager of the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation (RSNC) Mr Celestine Ogolo has called on the Rivers State government to ensure that the interest of physically challenged persons are given the desired attention in all facets of development.
Mr Ogolo said this when the disabled students association, Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) chapter paid him a courtesy call in his office.
Mr Ogolo particularly urged the state government to ensure that the interests of physically challenged are taken care of in the on-going infrastructural development programmes in the state.
He also called on public spirited individuals and philanthropists to assist this category of persons through the award of scholarships, donation of computers among other assistance.
The General Manager commended them for the visit and assured the preparedness of the corporation to partner with them by disseminating information concerning the association.
According to him, they have shown that in spite of the challenges, they are prepared to make a mark in the society.
Earlier the president of the association, Mr Nwibiogbofkaagokuru stressed the need for the provision of employment opportunities, scholarships, crutches, wheel chairs and computers for their members.
The president said that the members are prepared to contribute their quota towards the development of the society if given the opportunity.
