NGO Commends NDDC Boss Over Development Strides
A Non-Governmental Arganisation, NGO, the Niger Delta Youth for Practical Development (NDYPD) has commended the acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Pastor Power C. Aginighan for his tremendious achievement in the commission within his short period in Office.
The National Youth Leader of NDYPD, Comrade Prince Y. Jeminimiema made the Commendation when the organization paid him solidarity/advocacy visit at his office in Port Harcourt, recently.
Comrade Jeminimiema described Pastor Aginighan as a man with wealth of experience, managerial and administrative prowers to address the Peculiar problems of the youths and the Niger Delta region at large.
He stated that NDYPD is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) existing in the nine states of Niger Delta with its off shoots in 185 local Government areas in the region adding that the youths resolved to channel their energy towards the development of society.
NDYPD leader opined that they were in his office to congratulate him over his appointment as the Acting Managing Director/CEO of NDDC by President Musa Ya’Adua and pledged their total support and loyalty to his administration.
He used the opportunity to condemn the upsurge of criminality and militancy ravaging the region and advised those concerned to take advantage of the federal government amnesty granted to the militants operating in the zone so as to ensure that peace and development return to the region.
He solicited for the assistance and support of the commission (NDDC) to the organization to enable it meet some of its challenges.
In his response, the Acting Managing Director of NDDC, Pastor Power Z. Aginighan lauded the youth body for their visit and urged them to remain peaceful at all, times.
He reiterated the determination of the commission to partner with any meaningful organization in the region and assured the group that the commission would always identify with them.
The climax of the visit was the confirnment of a National Grand Patron of the association award on the NDDC boss.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
