Regent Dissolves Woji Mgt Committee
The Chairman, Woji
Consultative Council and Regent of Woji Community, Chief Tony Chukwu has dissolved the 8-man committee set up to manage the resources of the community.
The Regent who revealed this in an exclusive interview with The Tide correspondent in Port Harcourt recently said the committee which was headed by Chief Ade Temple Ejekwu was dissolved as a result of gross misconduct and frivolous statement issued by him recently in the media.
Chief Tony Chukwu said Chief Ade Temple Ejekwu went on air and declared themselves autonomous and that they have met and chosen a king for the Woji people and also stated that they are the Supreme Council in Woji Community.
According to him, that announcement made the council to invite Chief Ade Ejekwu to defend his action upon which he could not offer any reasonable defence for his action, hence he was given 48 hours to withdraw the said announcement and the committee desolved.
Chief Chukwu called on the public to disregard such media report and challenged Chief Ejekwu to name the new king he wanted the public to believe has emerged and waiting to be installed.
He told the people of Woji Community not to be deceived by Chief Ejekwu whom he said was merely seeking for relevance from the people of the community.
He, however, stated that the Woji people whose responsibility is to select and install the Eze Oha Evo have not met for that purpose, while maintaining that the Woji Consultative Council remains the committee incharge of the affairs of Woji people and will continue to work with the elders of the land, who are custodians of the laws to maintain peace and order.
