Amaechi Lauds Lloyd Over Projects
Rivers State Governor, Rt Hon Chibuike Amaechi, says the member representing Emohua constituency in the state House of Assembly, Hon Chidi Lloyd has been making critical contributions to good governance in the state.
Governor Amaechi said this Friday during the commissioning of Eze Godwin Onyeka Community centre, a constituency project nominated by Hon Lloyd and constructed by the state Government in Omudioga, Emohua Local Government Area of the state.
Represented by his Deputy, Engr Tele Ikuru, Governor Amaechi who is also chairman, Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF), described the legislator as a pillar of the present administration in the state, who has helped to stabilize the House of Assembly and encouraged his colleagues to provide the needed support for the government to succeed.
“Chidi Lloyd’s contribution to good governance over a long period of time has been invaluable; he is focused, consistent, disciplined and has a good understanding of governance,” the state chief executive declared.
He commended Hon Lloyd for his contributions to the state and urged the community to ensure the sustenance of the project.
Earlier, Hon Lloyd who is also the leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, thanked Governor Amaechi for the successful delivery of the project, noting that though he nominated the project and asked for it to be sited in Omudioga, he is grateful that projects such as this will enhance the credibility of legislators.
He also thanked the Omudioga community for their support, urging them to properly utilize the community centre. He commended the Nyenwe-Ali of Omudioga and his subjects for the peace in the area, attributing the siting of the project the area to their unalloyed support for the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Hon Lloyd said the project is named after the traditional ruler, to celebrate him as a great leader.
In his speech, chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Chief Allen Nma, thanked Governor Amaechi for the project, noting that his administration has demonstrated commitment to the development of the area. He said the community centre project is a continuation of Hon Lloyd’s developmental stride, and urged him to do more.
In an address by the Community Development Committee (CDC) chairman, Mr Moses Wohu, the Omudioga community lauded Governor Amaechi for his achievements in education , health, security, and other areas and commended Hon Lloyd for the constituency project and his contributions to the development of the community. They appealed to the governor to reconstruct the Omudioga/Omerelu Road, Omudioga/Akpabu Road and other internal roads and streets stimulate the economy and promote social interaction.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
