Group Drums Support For Amaechi
As the political process of choosing our leaders for the forthcoming general election gathers momentum, a Non-Government Organisation Wailing Women for Good Governance, has enjoined the people of Rivers State to throw their weight toward the re-election of Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for second tenure, in view of his track record which is unbeatable.
Speaking to newsmen, recently in Port Harcourt, Executive Director of the group, Mrs Jane William Abbey said the call became necessary in view of the projects which the Amaechi administration has embarked upon in so short a period.
According to her, the governor’s policies which are people oriented include schools, hospitals and good road network which are unprecedented in the history of the state.
The Executive Director further observed that the need to maintain the peace already achieved by the administration and the completion of some on-going projects informed the need to re-elect Governor Amaechi come April general election.
She used the opportunity to call on women in the state to embrace the voters registration exercise in order to exercise their franchise adding that since women outnumber men in the country they should play a pivotal role in electing leaders.
Mrs Jane Abbey also called for support for President Goodluck Jonathan and Namadi Sambo saying the duo would make Nigeria great if re-elected to continue as Presdient and Vice President of Nigeria, respectively in the April polls.
