Ex-NDA Boss Joins State Assembly Race
The former Caretaker Com
mittee Chairman of Ahoada-East Local Government Area, Chief (Hon) Andy Nweye has assured the people of Ahoada East Constituency I of quality representation if given the mandate to represent them in the Rivers State House of Assembly, under the platform of APC.
Chief Nweye gave this assurance during his visit to seven wards of the L.G.A, informing them of his intention to contest for the state House of Assembly.
He said his decision to contest for the position was informed by the neglect faced by the people, stressing that having occupied several administrative positions in recent past he had garnered enough experience to represent them effectively.
“The House of Assembly is a place were laws are made and I think with my wealth of experience as the chairman, National Orientation Agency (NOA) for 8 years and having served as a former CTC chairman I think have what it takes he stated.
On the rumour that Governor Amaechi had anointed some candidates for elective positions in the forth coming general elections, Chief Nweye dismissed it as false, stating that the governor did not ask him or any other person to buy form.
Responding, the Ward charmen thanked him for the visit while assuring him of their votes during and after the primaries.
