Job Creation: Conference Seeks Govt, Private Sector Partnership
The Government and
the private sector have been urged to create employment opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths in the country.
This was contained in a communiqué made available to newsmen at the end of a week-long theological conference organised by the Catholic Institute of West Africa (CIWA) in Port Harcourt.
The conference, which had as its theme: Theology and Youth Empowerment for Integral Transformation in Africa”, also called on the relevant agencies in charge of youth training and education to provide adequate facilities for qualitative learning with a view to solving youth unemployment in the society.
The conference also called on the governments, the religious bodies and other relevant agencies to facilitate the holistic development of the youth through the provision of adequate youth development centres and recreational facilities.
The communiqué was jointly signed by Rev. Msgr (Prof) Felix Adeigbo, Rector of the institute and Rev. Father (Dr) Patrick Okonkwo, the registrar.
