Students Hail RSUST E-Learning System
The internet facilities
at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology Port Harcourt (RSUST), have continued to add beauty to the academic pursuit of the students in the institution.
Speaking with our reporter at the 32nd matriculation ceremony of the University last Wednesday, some students said, the internet provision in the university, had so far placed it above other state-owned universities in the country.
One of the matriculating students, Julius Amadi, said that Prof. Barineme Fakae, had shown that he was a seasoned administrator.
He explained how the internet system had removed all bottlenecks associated with clearance and other academic activities.
Amadi, maintained that such feat could not be compared with the analogue days where students carried files for over two months in the name of clearance formalities.
Our correspondent reports that the internet system in the state-owned university last Monday posed a kind of problem due to system failure, but noted that the Information & Technology (IT) Department has since rectified the situation.
Also speaking, a fresh student, Clara Okparadi, recalled how simple the e-system of the school had made academic process, and the need to sustain the tempo.
According to her, there would not have been a better way to improve on the learning system of a school than the provision of a functional internet system.
Meanwhile, the students have appealed to the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, to provide the necessary items that would continue to encourage the e-learning system introduced by Prof. Fakae-led administration in the school.
RSUST was among the first state-owned universities co commence e-learning educational system in Nigeria.
