Dolphins FC Celebrates N10m Branding Deal
Dolphins Football Club of Port Harcourt have revealed that their one-year shirt-branding deal with beer makers Harp is worth N10-million in cash.
Media officer of the club, China Acheru said, however, there is much more to the partnership than the bare financials.
“For us there are three parts top the deal, maybe more that interested us and it was not just financial alone,” Acheru said.
“We will gain financially from the deal as it comes to roughly N10-million for the one-year deal. This we hope will increase with performance as we believe that at the end of the season we could either win the League, Cup or at least return to the continent.
“Aside from that financial part of the deal there is the fact that the sponsors are charged with producing replica jerseys, T-shirts for distribution to fans and members of our supporters club as well as other memorabilia.
“You know how it is with Nigerian clubs and replica jerseys so it was a welcome development for us. We as the club will provide the jerseys to be worn by the team to play the actual football while they, the sponsors take charge of the replicas.”
In addition, Harp will create a fan park at Dolphins’ home ground, the Liberation Stadium.
