NSCDC Recovers Petroleum Products, Arrests Eight
Oyo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC ) command, has arrested eight persons suspected to be vandals at Alaka, Iddo Local Government Area of the state.
The state NSCDC Commandant, Mr Clement Adesuyi, who paraded the suspects in Ibadan, said they were apprehended with the help of the state security task force, “ Operation Burst,” and members of the Community Development Association(CDA) in the area.
He said the suspects were arrested at their hideout after a tip-off, adding that vehicles and petroleum products worth millions of naira were recovered at the scene.
Some of the vehicles impounded included two trucks with registration numbers XW 29 AGL and XZ 505 FST.
Also impounded were two white Ford Transit buses with registration numbers KTU 369 XE and XJ 306 KSF.
Others were a Mazda car with registration number AH 475 APP, five motorcycles and drums containing petrol valued at about N2 million.
Adesuyi said that the suspects would be arraigned in court after investigations were concluded.
He commended the state security task force and the CDA for their roles in the arrest and urged residents in the state to always cooperate with security operatives.
