RSG Tasks Civil Servants On Productivity
The Rivers State Government, has said that, the success and failure of its policies and programmes depend on the support and cooperation of all civil servants in the state.
The Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr. Levi Gogo Charles who made this assertion during the sendforth and Award of Prize ceremony of staff of the Ministry last Friday in Port Harcourt, said that government would always reward civil servants who have distinguished themselves in the service.
Mr. Charles said that time had come for civil servants of all categories to brace-up for the challenge of good governance which had been the focus of the Amaechi administration in the state.
He also lauded the cordial relationship among staff of the ministry, stressing that the development had made the ministry the envy of others in the state.
The Commissioner commended the retirees for putting in their best for the state, expressing the hope that their success in the service would act as inspirations to others still in the service.
The Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Sir Promise Njowhor said that the retirees and staff who received awards at the ceremony deserved them in view of their contributions not only to the ministry, but the entire state.
“Honour should be given to whom it is due, it is right to recongise people who have done so much to foster government’s policies”, he said.
Sir Njiowhor described recognition as a key factor of motivation as far as the service was concerned.
Eight retirees were honoured at the ceremony, while some staff were presented with certificates of recognition.
A former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Sir, Awoye Bobmanuel who is now in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry was also recognised at the occasion.
