Rivers Police Command Confirms Killing During IYC Election …Begins Manhunt For Culprits
The Rivers State Police Command says it is aware of the senseless and sporadic shooting at Abuloma area in Port-Harcourt Local Government Area of the State where the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Central Zone, conducted their elections.
Consequently, the Commissioner of Police, Rivers State, CP Olatunji Disu, has swiftly despatched tactical teams to the scene and stressed that before the arrival of the police operatives to the scene, the perpetrators had taken to their heels.
A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Grace Iringe-koko, said the Commissioner of Police has given marching orders to police operatives to track down the perpetrators and bring them to face the full weight of the law.
According to the statement, “the Command wishes to advise all law abiding citizens to go about their lawful businesses and report any suspicious movement to the Police, as normalcy has returned to the area please”.
