Kalabari Se Receives Fouchee Paramount Chieftaincy Stool
Fouchee Community recorded another milestone, Saturday, when the Kalabari Se Kobiri received into Council the Paramount Chieftaincy Stool of Fouchee Community in a very colourful ceremony in Buguma, the traditional headquarters of the Kalabari nation.
The formal coronation of HRH A.C. Blakk-Iwerima as the king of Fouchee Community and the acceptance of the Paramount Chieftaincy Stool of Fouchee Community followed the dismissal of a number of petitions, including one from representatives of Bakana Community, who wanted the highest chieftaincy and administrative authority of Kalabari to stop Fouchee Community from presenting her Paramount Chieftaincy Stool for due recognition.
The King Amachree Hall, where the coronation took place, was agog with colours and jubilation when the Regent of the Kalabari nation, Chief Charles I. T. Numbere Princewill, declared the acceptance of the ancient Chieftaincy Stool of the Fouchee Community and its King, HRH A.C. Blakk-Iwerima, as ODOME 1 and Amayanabo of the Fouchee Community.
Speaking to the media at the venue, the spokesman of Fouchee Community, Alabo Dagogo Clinton, thanked God for what he referred to as the victory of light over darkness.
He pledged the willingness of the Fouchee Community to continue to contribute to the peace and development of the Kalabari nation.
Alabo Clinton was particularly expressed gladness that Fouchee Community was accorded the opportunity to defend herself on the many petitions raised against it.
On the significance of the occasion, he said the coronation finally puts to rest speculations that Fouchee is a section of the Bakana Community.
According to him, the coronation also opens the way for the recognition of the King of Fouchee Community by the Rivers State Government, as all the secret destructive petitions against Fouchee Community would no longer find any ground to stand.
The coronation attracted dignitaries from across Nigeria, who were treated to the usual Fouchee cultural displays and reception in Buguma and Port Harcourt respectively.
