NGO Donates Life Jackets To School
A non- governmental organisation under the aegis of Not Too Young To Lead Initiative has given out free safety life jackets to Community Primary School in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Presenting the life safety jackets, the founder of the Not Too Young To Lead Initiative Worldwide, Engr. Boma Banigo said his passion for the educational advancement of the less privileged was the driving force.
Engr. Banigo said the free safety life jackets donation was also geared towards supporting Governor Siminalayi Fubara in transforming the educational standard of an average child in Rivers State.
Engr. Banigo opined that the present administration in the State has done marvellously within a space of one year to change the educational fortunes of the Rivers younger generation hence, the need to support him.
Engri Banigo said the exercise will be a routine one to ensure 80 percent of the Bonny pupils and teachers are properly equipped to learning and impartation of knowledge.
He noted that the lives of the pupils and their teachers are important before acquiring knowledge and learning.
Equipping them with necessary tools and granting their safety remains paramount. Recently we have heard of boat mishap necessitating to loss of lives and property along the waterways, as a responsible organisation, we deem it necessary to avert future occurrence by providing these safety tools to the future of the younger generation.
It is also in line with the vision of our dear Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara to providing the enabling environment to secure the future of Rivers children.
Today, we are kick starting with the Community Primary School, same school we commenced the free text books, and writing materials last week.
The rural communities must be part of this noble move to save our children from boat accident.
Our children must stay alive before learning. The society can be better if the foundation of the children is accurately laid; achieving this could be a collective effort. The excitement among the children and staff has motivated us to achieve more.
We are ready to partner with cooperate bodies, companies, members of the public and government at all levels to move forward”, he said.
