Foundation Awards Scholarship To 36 Students
Ozuzu Clan Youth Disadvantaged Foundation, an arm of Peter Nwogu Foundation based in Ozuzu Clan of Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State has awarded scholarship to over 36 indigenes of the clan.
Executive Director of the foundation, Engr Peter Nwogu said this in an interview with newsmen in Ozuzu clan.
“We have awarded scholarship to over 36 students from the clan.
Nwogu noted that apart from the scholarship, his foundation has also done so much for the less privileged in the clan.
He said the foundation has paid several visitations to the elderly home in the clan, and other vulnerable people.
“We are for the needy, including students, youths and elderly in Ozuzu clan.
“We reach these people through our empowerment programme “ he said.
He said his foundation has also visited Community Secondary School, Egbu Etche to empower the students.
Reeling out some of his achievements, he said his foundation visited the elderly on the 7th of May 2021 and presented lots of gifts to them, adding that similar gesture had been extended to widows, orphans and other less privileged persons in the clan.
According to Engr Nwogu, the foundation has injected so much life and hope to the elderly, youths and the entire people of Ozuzu clan but added that much was still needed to be done to lift the people out of poverty.
It would be recalled that Engr Nwogu was recently bestowed with an award by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Etche Chapter for his humanitarian activities in the local government and beyond.
Speaking on the award, Nwogu said the award will encourage him to do more for his people, but said that the foundation needs support from both government and other humanitarian organisations in the State to reach out to more people in the clan.
He also stressed the need for government to embark on programms that will lift the conditions of the less privilege in the society.
