Coach Wants Sharks FC To Return
The Head Coach of Midland FC of Port Harcourt, Lucky Batubo, has appealed to Rivers State Government to establish another football club that can equally have the capacity to represent the state at all levels of football competitions.
He further appealed to the authorities to bring back Sharks Football Club, saying that Sharks Football Club has been a household name in the country.
Batubo said this in a chat with Tidesports shortly after his team defeated Divine FC 2-0 last week at the ongoing Rivers State Super League, (RSSL) at the Sharks Football Stadium in Port Harcourt.
“I think the Rivers State Government needs to have another male football club. I think bringing back Sharks will create more employment and economic empowerment for our youths in the State”, Batubo said.
He equally said that the re-establishment of Sharks would assist to expose most grassroots footballers in the State and to a large extent reduce crime in the state.
“I think the State Government has the resources and capacity to own more than one male football club. I am appealing to the authorities concern to please consider it” he stated.
