NISafetyE Donates Protective Saw Mill Materials To Dealers
As part of their corporate social responsibilities to proffer safety solutions to the society and perform sensitisation to enlighten people working under construction firms, the Nigeria institution of safety engineers (NISafetyE) has donated some Personal Protective Equipment (PPE )to saw mill dealers in Port Harcourt.
The chapter gathered lots of PPE materials to help the hazard-prone saw mill in Port Harcourt.
The state Chairman of the NISafetyE, Engr. John Onyemenam, together with members of the State Executive Council, made the donation during their industrial visit to the saw mill during a program tagged, “Operation use your PPE”, recently.
The program, which started earlier this year, when some team of engineers who visited various constructive work sites to enlighten workers on the need to apply PPE, also extended it to various saw-mill locations in the state.
Onyemenam, while addressing the workers, narrated the essence of the program and why it was conceive to curb dangerous situations during working hours.
He also enlightened them on the meaning of PPE, the use of PPE, the different types of PPEs, and sighted instances on serious incidents that occurred due to lack of preventive measures.
Onyemenam also highlighted the advantages of using PPE to include long team effect of noise without ear plugs and others.
He listed some of the regulations to include periodic hand washing, use of face masks and hand sanitisers, which the company observed, could help protect the people from contracting virus.
The workers in their positive reactions commended the NISafetyE boss in Rivers State for the lecture, adding that they have learnt a lot from the sensitisation, and promised to adhere to the practice of safety, while also taking safety issues serious by using PPE during their daily working routine.

He also explained that he has worked hard to provide preventive materials to his workers, but that all efforts seems to prove abortive, as they dumped it and prefer working with bare-body.

He said the incident made him to be conscious in practicing safety.
