Monarch Hails Wike Over Projects’ Commissioning, Flag-Off
A first class traditional ruler in Rivers State and Eze Oha Evo III of Oha Evo Kingdom, King Leslie Eke, has commended the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, over the recent commissioning and flag-off of new projects in the state.
The monarch noted that it was rare for state governors to record such feat when their administration has few months to wind up.
Eke made this known while speaking with newsmen at his palace in Woji, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, at the weekend.
He noted that the commissioning of several projects by Wike, especially the Orochiri/Worukwo Flyover, would open up economic growth in the state, adding that the most important thing in a given human environment is economic viability.
The traditional ruler expressed hope that with the infrastructural foundation already laid by Wike, Rivers State would soon become a Dubai or one of the best commercial cities in the world.
Eke, however, warned against abuse of any of the projects, and also called on the people to cultivate good maintenance culture.
He also described the flag-off of dualisation of Azikiwe/Illoabuchi Road as an excellent decision by the state government given the horrible traffic grid usually experienced in the area.
He expressed confidence that Wike would complete the road and all other projects before his administration winds up next year.
“Barrister Nyesom Wike-led administration is doing marvellously well. I think we have it right this time around. His urge for infrastructural development is second to none.
“I am not envisaging any fear, because I know that Governor Nyesom Wike is not the type that abandons projects. Full payment of the compensation for the Illoabuchi project is an indication of seriousness on the part of the governor. So, the question of whether he will compete the project should not arise”, he said.
He also called on the people of Woji and the entire Obio/Akpor, who are of voting age, to make good use of their Permanent Voter Card (PVC) and elect good leaders during the forthcoming general election in 2023.
