Court To Begin Hearing Of PDP, Accord Suit In Rivers

All is now set for the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt to begin hearing on a suit filed by the People’s Democratic Party against the Independent Nat ional Electoral Commission, Accord Party and its National Assembly candidates for the 2023 general elections in Rivers State.
To this end ,the High Court has fixed the commencement and hearing to begin on the 31st of August, 2022
When the matter which was expected to come up for hearing was mentioned, counsels representing the parties informed the court of the some applications and responses which were yet to be filed and replied.
Counsel to Accord, Abdullahi Mohammed also moved a motion seeking to regularize his client’s counter-affidavit to the prayers of the PDP which was not opposed.
Presiding Judge, Justice STEPHEN DAYLOP-PAM after listening to representatives of the political parties involved in the suit, directed that all applications and responses should be made on or before the new adjourned date which is on the 31st of August, 2022.
