Bonny Boss Reiterates Commitment To Sports Dev …Commends Rivers United On Victory
The Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area in Rivers State, Hon. Anengi Barasua, has reiterated that her administration would continue to support and develop sports in the area.
According to her, sports and other programmes that are geared towards youth development have been her priority since she assumed office.
Hon. Barasua, said this at the weekend while fielding questions from sports journalists in Port Harcourt, noting that sports has the potential to boost the economy of any given society.
She equally used the forum to join other good people in the country to celebrate Rivers United FC’s victory, as they won the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title in 2021/2022 season.
The LGA boss commended the State Governor Chief Nyesom Wike, for his commitment and proactive approach towards sports development, which resulted to the victory of Rivers United.
She described the Wike as a great leader that has empowered Rivers youths through sports activities.
“On behalf of the good people of Bonny, I use this opportunity to join other good people to celebrate the victory of our darling Club Rivers United, as they won the NPFL historically.
“Our Governor has also performed well in sports promotion and development. No wonder he was conferred with the Power of Sports (POS) Africa award”, Hon. Barasua said.
The LGA used the forum to advise players and technical crew members of the Club to put more effort to enable them do better in the continent and make the State proud.
