S’Court Verdict: ASALGA Boss Lauds Wike’s Courage To Recover 17 Oil Wells
Following the Supreme Court’s ruling in favour of Rivers State on the ownership of 17 oil wells at Akri and Mgbede oil fields, the Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Hon. Onengiyeofori George, has lauded the will power of the state Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, for standing firm in the defense of Rivers people, saying that the governor has shown capacity overtime as a Rivers’ crusader.
The chairman, who congratulated the Rivers State governor, and indeed, Rivers people, said the Supreme Court ruling in favour of “our dear Rivers State is indeed a welcome development and a boost to Rivers’ economy”.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, John Paul Braide, in Buguma City, the chairman noted that Rivers State has enjoyed many court victories all because of the commitment of the governor for always and promptly initiating legal onslaughts against any perceived enemy of Rivers State and her God-given inheritance.
He said: “The news of the Supreme Court ruling yesterday on the ownership of some oil wells at Akri and Mgbede oil fields came to me with joy.
“We are happy because the Supreme Court has once again restored the confidence of the Rivers people in the Judiciary.
“This is, indeed, a welcome development, and a boost to the Rivers’ economy.
“And so, on behalf of the government and good people of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, I congratulate Governor Nyesom Wike, and indeed, the Rivers people for the achievement of this feat.
“The governor has always shown capacity for standing firm in the defense of the state as a crusader. Hence, the many court victories the state has enjoyed under his watch.
“It is my prayer that come 2023, God will give Rivers people a governor who will stand firm like Governor Wike, to defend Rivers State and her inheritance and more,” the chairman added.
