Varsity Registrar Bags Church Award
Registrar of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Professor Boma B. Obi, has bagged an award of excellence from God’s own people Evangelical Ministry, Port Harcourt.
The award was part of activities to celebrate the 2022 annual thanksgiving service of the church.
The service has its theme: “Impartation of Grace for Higher Levels’.
General Overseer of the church, Rev. Adekanmbi Martins said the award was in recognition of the contributions of Professor Obi to the development of the society.
Martins said it is the traditional of the church to always honour those who deserve it, adding that the gesture was to encourage them as well as set standards for the younger generations to follow.
He said the church since its inception 27 years ago has done so much towards the upliftment of the less privileged in the society.
According to him, the church has paid school fees to several students in post primary schools and universities while several of those who are into cultism and other deviant behaviours have been brought to Christ.
He said the church will continue to follow the injunction of Christ which is to do good to everyone in the society.
Also speaking, Chairman, Yoruba Community, South-South and South East, Dr Adewale Alabi who presented the award on behalf of the church to Professor Obi described the event as awesome especially coming from the household of God.
He also advised the youths to toe the path of hardwork as success in life does not come by accident.
Also speaking, the awardee, Professor Boma B. Obi thanked the church for the honour done to her, adding that it will catapult her to greater height in the service to humanity.
