Woke Praises Orluwene’s Resilience, Giant Strides
The Chief Of Staff, Government House, Port Harcourt, Engr. Chukwuemeka Woke, has commended the Provost of the Rivers State University School of Medical Sciences, Prof. Chituru Orluwene, for his perseverance, and for achieving huge success despite the unfavourable circumstances that confronted him early in life.
Woke was speaking at a reception organised by Mgbu-Owhor group of houses of Mgbuitanwo in honour of Prof. Chituru Orluwene, last Thursday in Emohua, Emohua Local Government Area of the state.
He charged the people not to allow unfavourable circumstances to define or limit them, but to see such as opportunity to overcome the turbulence of life and excel in life.
“Professor Chituru Orluwene didn’t get to where he is today by luck but by hard work.
“Despite losing his father at a tender age, he never gave up on his dreams”, Woke said, adding that, “with persistence and optimism, the old student of Government Secondary School, Emohua, was able to defy all odds to emerge a giant in academics”.
Woke, who further stated that people can only be limited if they succumb to pressure, stressed that it takes one with courage to become a professor of medicine after losing his father at a tender age and attending a local school.
He emphasised that success in life was achievable for those who put their trust in the Lord, remain focused, and diligent.
Woke thanked the family of Pa. Wilson Orlu Obinna of Mgbu-Owhor group of houses in Mgbuitanwo for honouring Prof. Chituru Orluwene, and prayed God to continue to guild and protect them.
In his response, the Provost of the Rivers State University School of Medical Sciences, Prof. Chituru Orluwene, thanked God for ordering his steps and bringing him thus far.
Orluwene also thanked the Mgbu-Owhor group of houses for the honour bestowed on him, and promised not to disappoint them, the people of Emohua and the government and entire people of the state.
The ceremony was witnessed by people from all walks of life.
