Bishop Hails CMF, Dedicates Multi-Purpose Hall At Woji …Confirms 50 Candidates

Bishop of Evo Diocese, Anglican Communion, the Rt. Rev. Innocent Ordu, last Saturday, paid an episcopal visit to St Nicholas’ Anglican Church, Woji, during which he dedicated a two-storey multi-purpose building built by the Christian Men’s Fellowship (CMF) of the church.
The bishop commended the CMF of the church for a job well done, and asked other CMF in other churches to emulate St. Nicholas, Woji.
It was indeed a celebration of God’s faithfulness and a mix of pomp and pageantry as Ordu, dedicated the multipurpose complex.
Ordu prayed for all who contributed in one way or the other in the realisation of the project, asking that God would reward their generosity.
The episcopal visit was also used for confirmation of about 50 candidates from Woji Archdeaconry.
In his sermon, Bishop Innocent Ordu charged the candidates to be zealous in good works.
With strong emphasis on the person and work of the Holy Spirit, the candidates were exhorted to walk and depend on the third person of the trinity to do exploit for the kingdom.
The event, which was attended by the Paramount Ruler of Woji Community, Eze Emeka Ihunwo and some members of his cabinet, witnessed a colourful dance presentation by Woji women.
It would be recalled that the foundation stone-laying of the CMF multipurpose hall was laid by Ordu during the administration of Rev. Cephas Okarefe as vicar; Ven. F. N. Akah, as supervising archdeacon; and Barrister Kingsley Chuku as CMF president in December, 2014.
Speaking at the event, the CMF President, Sir Ernest Chinwo, expressed gratitude for God’s faithfulness, provisions and blessings during the entire period the project lasted.
“The three-floor multipurpose hall has offices and three large halls which are already in use for school and reception venue. This will generate income for the Church,” Chinwo said.
He was accompanied by other members of the CMF.
In his vote of thanks, the Vicar of St. Nicholas’ Anglican Church and Administrator of Woji Archdeaconry, Rev. Canon Kingsley Ohajianya, was grateful for the episcopal visit by his Lordship.
The event had in attendance the clergy, MU/WG, knights and ladies, lay readers and many dignitaries from across the archdeaconry.
The episcopal function continued, yesterday, with the Diocesan Advent Priestly Ordination.
