Gunmen Kidnap Judge, Kill Orderly
Honourable Justice Nwosu Iheme of the Federal Court of Appeal, Benin City, Edo State is reported to have been kidnapped by gunmen in Benin City.
More disheartening is the additional report that his police orderly was killed supposedly in the process of his gallant effort to save the senior juror.
This is coming barely a week after Justice Abdul Dogo suffered the same fate in Ondo State.
The gunmen are reported to have intercepted the Jeep in which the justice was being driven along Benin-Agbor road.
According to our source, a Toyota Voltron car conveying four unknown gunmen had trailed the judge’s car until it overtook and the heartless occupants opened fire, killing the police orderly on the spot.
They were said to have shot the tyre of the Jeep; a development that forced the jeep to a halt.
The female judge was said to have been whisked into the hoodlums’ car onwards to an unknown destination.
Meanwhile, as at the time of filing the report, neither the Edo State Police Command had issued any official statement nor the suspected kidnappers announced a ransom for the release of the Justice.
