The Head Coach of City Kings Football Academy in Port Harcourt, Bailey Benjamin has expressed optimism that his team will win the second edition of the ongoing Kings Cup in Port Harcourt.
He said for them to win the first game in the competition is an indication that his team is in contention to win the trophy.
Benjamin stated this, on Sunday in an exclusive interview with Tidesports, shortly after his team thrashed Precious FC 1-4 in the opening match of the competition at number six field Old Port Harcourt Township.
“I am very excited winning the opening game, because it is not easy to win first game in a tournament”, Benjamin said.
The Kings Cup competition is poised to catch them young and give the young ones more knowledge in game of football.
City Kings Academy (CKA) came from behind with a goal down in the first half to win the game.
“ I have to change the formation because my players were playing out of position. I am overwhelmed. I am here to win the trophy,” he stated.
Also speaking, the head coach of Precious FC, James Albam, blamed the organisers for allowing his opponent to field over aged players.
“I accepted the loss but it’s bad to feature over aged players in an age-grade competition” Abam said.
