Police Arrest Suspected Cultist At Burial Ceremony
Men of the Special Anti-Cultism Squad, SPACS, of the Anambra State Police Command,yesterday stormed the burial ceremony of a suspected cultist, Christian Kenechu kwuOnugha a.k.a. Kembeliwa at Umuota Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area and arrested one Chikaodili Nwanba.
Our correspondent gathered that Nwanba was trailed to the burial ceremony by the police and arrested with a locally made pistol.
The suspected cultist, said to be a member of Black Axe confraternity was at the burial ceremony with other members pay last respected to their fallen member, Onugha, when he was arrested.
Onugha was also said to have been killed during a bloody clash with a rival group in December 2018.
An eyewitness said the burial immediately came to a halt after Nwanba was arrested, as other cultists who were at the ceremony; displaying dangerous weapons fled the scene.
“After the arrest, the bereaved family buried the dead and everyone disappeared out of fear,” the source said.
