Rivers United’s Coach Lauds Players For Winning MFM
The technical manager of Rivers United football Club of Port Harcourt Stanly Eguma has commended his players for defeating Mountain of Fire Ministry (MFM) FC of Lagos in the match day three of the ongoing Nigeria Professional football league (NPFL).
He explained that, MFM gave a tough fight in the game adding that they are a good team.
Eguma stated this while brifing sports journalist at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium Port Harcourt shortly after his team defeated MFM 1-0 in the NPFL match day three fixture.
He attributes the winning to the supporters of the club whose turn up in mass to cheer the team to victory.
“They gave us a good fight but because of the pressure we got the own goal.
The present of the fans today was a moral boost for the team winning”, Eguma stated.
He explained that,he changed the game plan in the second half of the match to get a good result adding that some of his new players played a competitive football.
“In the second half of the game we played more attacking football”, he said.
Also speaking, the head coach of MFM Fidelis Ilechukwu congratulated the Pride of Rivers State for emerging victorious against his them.
“Good one for Rivers United”, Ilechukwu said.
According to him, there is no narrow excape in winning, adding that the three points is very important in a football competition.
