LG Boss Charges PWDs On PVCs
The Chairman of Etche Local Government Council , Hon Obinna Anyanwu, has donated 60 crutches and five wheelchairs to persons with disability in the area to ease their movement.
The council boss made the donation last Wednesday , during a meeting with indigenes and residents with disability in Etche held at Okehi, the council headquarters.
Anyanwu, who explained that the aim of the meeting was to interact with persons with disability in the area and to know their challenges.
The local government chairman assured that his administration would continue to take steps towards improving the living condition of persons with disability in the area.
He charged them to utilize the aids well and contribute their own efforts towards maintaining the existing peace and development in the local government area.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Physically Disabled Matters, Itekena Altraide, commended the council boss for the gesture and enjoined other council chairmen in the state to emulate Hon Anyanwu in improving the living conditions of the physically disabled persons in the state.
He commended the Governor for involving the community of persons with disability in his administration, saying that Governor Wike has set a record not known in the government of the state in terms of the well being of persons with disability.
He urged persons with disability to ensure that they have their Permanent Voters Card to enable them cast their votes in 2019 general election in the country.
Altraide disclosed the preparedness of persons with disability in the state to vote in Governor Wike for a second term in office to enable him continue with the good work he is doing in the state.
