Group Targets 5million Souls For Christ
A non-denominational organisation; Christ Harvest Time Fellowship International (CHTFI) has unveiled plan to win five million souls for Christ annually.
National Co-ordinator of the fellowship, Bishop Godswill E.D. Jumbo who said this during the flagging off of the fellowship in Port Harcourt said that soul winning was an integral part of the Christian doctrine, noting that the aim of the organisation was to bring back Christian values.
While stressing that the organisation had divided the entire country and each state of the federation into six zones for this purpose, the cleric blamed the rising level of restiveness and other forms of moral decadence in the society on the abandonment of the secret injunction of Christ.
According to him, the churches have abandoned soul winning campaign for prosperity, adding that this ugly trend has led millions of souls into eternal damnation.
He said that the Fellowship would work with established churches in every locality, adding that the youths would be its primary target for evangelism.
He said they would also embark on skills acquisition programme amongst others.
Also speaking, Pastor Ogunka Joseph said that the great commission of Christ to his disciples was to bring souls to the kingdom of God, regretting that the non adherence to this commission by the present churches had wrecked so much havoc on the society.
“Soul winning is a habit of God. It is a great commission, but the Christians are not meeting up with the commission. “This group intends to wake up the church to actualise the great commission”, he said.
