Stakeholders in the Nigerian entertainment industry recently gathered together to brain storm on how to boost the industry and move it to the next level.  The event was the fifth edit on  of the Nigerian Entertainment Conference (Neclive) held recently at Landmark Centre Victoria Island Lagos.
The impactful event was organised by the CEO of Black House Media, Mr Ayeni Adenkule and the dignitaries in attendance cut across the movie, music, comedy and dance industries and panelists of each of the categories pummeled on the missing factor needed to move the Nigerian entertainment industry forward.
On the comedy panel was the King of Nigerian comedy, Ali Baba, others include Shola Thompson Idemudia, Dima Okojie, Wole Arole and veteran show biz promoter and founder of Night of a Thousand Laughs, Opa William.
Woli Arole who started gaining recognition on instagram for his funny skirts, buttressed a point that comedians are neither fools nor jesters, but laugh doctors who ease stress and tension from their audience by bringing out humour from any and every situation.
He urged Nigerians to take comedians more seriously as they are responsible people.
The Nollywood session was quite interesting and heated up as Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham (formerly Aimakra), attacked the “Wedding Party” bride, Adesua Etonic for not being a member of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN). Adesua in her defence said she was not a member of the Guild because the AGN is not well structured.
On the music panel, one of the panelists, Daddy Showkey, said the new generation artistes want to get famous and rich but do not wanted to work hard for it, “New generation artistes need to understand that they are not the first to get international attention.
“Some of us were approached over two decades ago for our local content”, he said.
The audience was later split into three smaller groups headed by Kemi Lola, Akindoju, Frank Donga, Teju Baby Face as well as Kaffi respectively.  The conference was anchored by Tea A and had the following entertainers functioning in different capacities.  Among them were Patrick Doyle, Frank Edoho, Iyanya, Basket Mouth, Mr 2Kay, Cobhams Asuquo, Suen Akinbaloye of
Channels and more.
