Rivers First Lady Tasks Women On Family Values …As Banigo Sends Felicitates
Wife of Rivers State Governor, Justice Suzette Eberechi Nyesom-Wike, has advised women to be dutiful mothers by supporting their spouses to raise children that are law-abiding and development-oriented.
She made the call during a private birthday celebration held in her honour at Government House, last Wednesday, in Port Harcourt.
Justice Wike said, “My most important message to mothers would be for them to be steadfast to raise Godly children. Family is the sub-structure of every society. When things are right with the family, everything takes its place”.
The Rivers State First Lady said she feels blessed by God on her birthday, stressing, “Everyday I wake up, the first thing I do is to give thanks to God for another opportunity to serve Him. I feel happy. I feel excited because I know there are better years ahead. God’s blessings have been unending”.
Meanwhile, former President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, has wished the wife of the Rivers State Governor, Justice Suzzette Eberechi Nyesom-Wike more fruitful years ahead as she serves humanity.
Jonathan said: “Myself and my wife wish her a Happy Birthday. I wish her more prosperous and rewarding times”.
Governor Nyesom Wike personally led the birthday song for his wife after the cutting of cake.
Among dignitaries, who joined Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike to celebrate his wife’s birthday include former Rivers State governor, Sir Celestine Omehia, Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Ikuinyi Owaji-Ibani, the Gambian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Famara Goye, National Caretaker Committee Chairman of PDP, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, PDP Caretaker Committee Secretary, Senator Ben Obi, Chief of Staff to Rivers State Governor, Engr Chukwuemeka Woke, former speaker of Benue State House of Assembly, David Iorhemba, former Acting National Chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, and Secretary to Rivers State Government, Hon Kenneth Kobani.
Also, the Country President of the International Federation of Women Lawyers, Mrs Onime Aguma was in attendance at the private birthday celebration in honour of the wife of the Rivers State Governor, Justice Suzzette Eberechi Nyesom-Wike.
Similarly, the Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, has joined other people of good will across the globe to felicitate with Hon. Justice Suzzette Eberechi Nyesom-Wike, wife of the Rivers State governor on her birthday celebration, May 24th, 2017.
In a statement from Government House, Port Harcourt, Banigo expressed delight that the birthday coincides with the Golden Jubilee celebration of the state and the second anniversary of the New Rivers Vision Government.
She extolled the qualities of Justice Nyesom-Wike, whom she described as focused, disciplined, a devoted Christian, and an epitome of humility and grace.
According to the deputy governor, Justice Nyesom-Wike was very approachable, a good listener, caring mother and wife, who feels for the pulse of the less-privileged and down-trodden in the society.
She prayed the Almighty God to continue to guide, protect and bless the wife of the governor.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
