Egi Monarch Promises Jobs, Industrial Dev
The newly crowned King
of Egi Land; Victor Elewa has said that he is determined to create employment as well as ensure that Egi land is Industrialised to create Jobs.
He said that Egi land which is the hurb of oil and gas in the state has been in boundage for over 35 years.
Elewa, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives disclosed this shortly after his coronation as Eze Egi II at Erema in Ogba/Egbema/ Ndoni Local Government Area at the weekend, said that peace and unity has returned to Egi kingdom.
He assured the Egi people of peace and in the land, as their long awaited King has been crowned, pointing that there ought to be total peace in the kingdom before talking about other developments.
“We do not need to depend on oil companies for our development. We need to build factories and industries so that the youths will focus on doing something.
“I am assuring Nigerians, the Ogba/Egbem/Ndoni local government and the people of Egi that today that peace and Unity has returned to Egi Kingdom”, he stated.
According to the Eze, Egi land has all it takes to have factories all over the place and provide jobs for the youth the Eze Egi noted that Egi land is the largest producer of gas in Africa but that Bonny is like the landing point of the product of gas which is produced in Egi land.
He promised that he would meet with President Buhari to ensure that what is due to Egi people is given to them, and also urged Governor Nyesom Wike who he called the “Eze Egberi gwon-gwo” of Egi land and a man of integrity to support Egi land, and also called on those who aspired for the position to join hands with him to build the kingdom.
