Delta Assembly Set To Screen Commissioner-Nominees

sembly is set to screen commissioner-nominees sent to the House by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for consideration.
The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mr Monday Igbuya read out the names during sitting in Asaba.
The nominees are Mrs Mary Iyasere, Mr John Nani, Dr Kingsley Emu, Chief James Augoye, Mr Vincent Uduaghan, Mr Newworld Safugha, Mr Areh Ogeh, Mr Fidelis Tilije and Mrs Omatsola Williams.
Others are Mr Austin Chikezie, Mrs Joyce Overah and Mrs Chiedu Ebie.
The speaker directed the nominees to submit 35 duplicate copies of their credentials to the office of the Clerk of the state House of Assembly on or before June 25.
Igbuya also directed the nominees to appear before the state House of Assembly on June 30 for screening.
The State House of Assembly last Tuesday also elected its principal officers following names of nominees forwarded to it by the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The nominees are Mr Tim Owhefere, (Isoko North) as the Majority Leader, Mrs Patience Ajudua as the Chief Whip, Mr Oboro Preyor as Deputy Majority Leader, Mr Michael Diden as Deputy Chief Whip, and Mr Reuben Izeze as Majority Whip.
Mr Okoh Chukwuyen of the Accord Party (AP) was also elected as the Minority Leader following the recommendation by his party.
