PDP National Chairman Arrives PH, Today …To Commission Projects
The National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu is expected to arrive Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, today, to commission an Adult Education Centre built by Hon Blessing Charles Nsiegbe.
The project located at Rumuwoji Community, Oro Abali in the Port Harcourt Local government Area is sponsored by the lawmaker, who represents Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 2 in the National Assembly through the Federal Ministry of Education.
The Tide also learnt that the lawmaker would in conjunction with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) also use the opportunity to empower 250 people from the constituency and compensate the Rumuwoji community market traders who lost their goods to fire that gutted the market on 17th December, 2013.
Speaking to The Tide, yesterday, Hon Nsiegbe confirmed that the PDP national chairman has agreed to commission the adult education centre as well as distribute electric block moulding machines to supporters and members of the party in her constituency.
Dame Nsiegbe, who hails from Rumuwoji community, represents Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 2 in the National Assembly.
However, The Tide gathered that some members of the party in the state were not happy with the development as they claim that the lawmaker refused to inform them of the visit of the PDP national chairman.
Sources revealed that the leader of PDP in the Port Harcourt Local Government and former Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Austin Opara, a member of the House of Representatives, Hon Ken Chikere were not happy as they were kept out of the organizing committee.
It was also gathered that members of Divine Mandate headed by Hon Azubuike Nmerukini were in charge following the division in the party.
Dame Nsiegbe said the visit of the national chairman would resuscitate the party’s influence in Rivers State as she urged members to work with one interest.
