Etche Community Urges Speedy Completion Of Power Project
The People of Mba Com
munity in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State have appealed to the Rivers State Governor, Rt Hon. Chibuike Amaechi to prevail on the contractor handling the electrification project in the area to speed up the work.
Chairman of the Mba Electrification Committee, Nnadozie Nwuzi who made the appeal in an interview with The Tide at Okudu said the work had experienced a slow pace of attention in recent times pointing out that this contractor was expected to conclude the project before now.
He explained that wire had gone round the area and the contractor is expected to hook it onto the Afara power line.
The Committee Chairman said his people are full of expectation with the initial speed the contract was being executed and had hoped that by last month, there would have been light in the area.
Nwuzi commended the Rivers State Government under the administration of Governor Amaechi for the road project in the area and the rural electrification work stressing that no other administration had developed the area like the Amaechi’s government.
“All we are saying is that let the Governor help prevail on the contractor to finish up the project for us”, he said.
The Committee chairman stated that the completion of the electrification project would boost socio-economic life of people in the area.
