RSG Changes Monthly Sanitation Day
To harmonise the monthly sanitation exercise with other states in the country, the Rivers State Environmental Sanitation Authority yesterday announced that the exercise would henceforth, hold on the last Saturday of every month.
Consequently, the Sole Administrator of the Authority, Mr Ade Adeogun, told newsmen in Port Harcourt that the first sanitation exercise earlier scheduled for February 1 had been cancelled.
“The monthly sanitation exercise scheduled for February1 has been cancelled and will now hold on the last Saturdays of every month, starting from the month of March. “The authority wishes to call on residents of the state to take note of the new date for the exercise.
“The new date is part of reforms to serve the people better as well as align with other States, to avoid problems associated with inter-state movement on sanitation day.’’
Adeogun said residents were expected to clean their environment by clearing their drains and dumping of waste products at the approved sites.
