The Federal Road
Safety Corps (FRSC), Rivers State Command says it will soon enforce the installation of First Aid boxes in commercial vehicles.
The State Sector Commander of the Corps, Mr Sunday Oghenekaro, said in Port Harcourt last Tuesday that all vehicles would be compelled to acquire First Aid box in 2014.
He noted that First Aid box “is very necessary’’ in both commercial and private vehicles to save lives in periods of emergency on the roads.
“In this 2014, we are poised to ensure that all vehicles carry First Aid boxes because they perform very important function in times of needs,’’ he said.
He said that as part of the effort to save children during road accident, child restrain should be provided in private cars.
Oghenekaro warned motorists against carrying children on their laps while driving, saying “it is a dangerous habit carrying children on the laps while driving.’’
