Foundation Organises Free Medicare For Rundele Widows
About 460 widows from Rundele Community in the Emohua Local Government Area have benefitted from a free medical outreach programme organised by the Lucky Worluh Foundation, a non-governmental organization in the State.
The programme included free eye test, sugar test as well as the distribution of drugs to widows.
The Executive Director of the Foundation, Hon. Lucky Worluh said that the programme was part of his effort to reach out to widows and other less privileged persons in the area.
He also said that the Foundation was instituted in memory of his mother who was a widow before her date.
Meanwhile, a widow intercessory outreach centre is to be established by the Lukcy Worluh Foundation at Rundele.
Speaking during the distribution of various items including food, wrappers and cash to widows in the area, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Hon. Lucky Worluh said that a large expanse of land has been acquired for the purpose.
He said that the centre which is inter-denominational would provide opportunities for widows to pray for the peace of the Rivers state and the State Governor Amaechi as well as for the continuous peace in Rundele Community.
Worluh who is a board member 1 of the Rivers State Universal basic Education Board said that the widows who benefitted from the programme were from different churches in the community.
Also speaking, the former President of Ogbakor Ikwerre, chief Sampson Agbaru commended Hon. Worluh for coming home to identify with the people.
Agbaru, a former Secretary to the state Government and Head of Service challenged other politicians to come home and help their people.
Also speaking, the women leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Rundele, Hon. (Mrs) Priscillia Ogbu said that the programme which is coming at the right time will help many households in the area.
