Bishop Challenges Isiokpo People On Peace
The Bishop of the Diocese of Ikwerre Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev Blessing C. Enyindah, has called on people to embrace God or the sustenance of peace and security in the society, especially the Isiokpo community.
Bishop Enyindah who made the call during an inter-denominational church service held at Saint Peters Cathedral Church, Isiokpo in Ikwerre Local Government Area, over the weekend said that the 2014 Isiokpo Prayer Summit was to seek divine intervention in the challenges affecting the community.
He condemned cultism, kidnapping, obnoxious traditional practices and other social vices which according to him, were responsible to the growth of the area.
Bishop Enyindah who spoke extensively on the topic of the summit titled, “Let Us Pray For Isiokpo” said it is the responsibility of all the inhabitants of Isiokpo to come forward with meaningful contributions that will bring peace, security, unity, progress and development of the land.
He said the people of Isiokpo should not relent in praying and seeking God’s intervention, stressing that it is only God that will restore peace and bring meaningful growth to the land.
The Anglican Bishop described Isiokpo as one of the ancient kingdoms in the state and urged the people of the area to report people with questionable character to security agents in the state.
