RSG Pledges To Motivate Workers …28 Govt House Staff Honoured
Rivers State Government says it will continue to appreciate the importance of a motivated workforce in the development of the state.
Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi gave the indication during a Christmas and end of year party for staff of Government House, Port Harcourt, Monday.
The Governor who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of Government House, Mr Fortune Oguru Fortune said the event demonstrates the importance he attaches to the welfare of the staff that work day and night from Monday to Sunday including public holidays.
The Governor commended Government House staff for their commitment and dedication to duty, noting that the present administration will continue to place premium on the provision of incentive for the workers including their training and retraining.
He explained that the party provides ample platform for workers to come together in a relaxed atmosphere to exchange pleasantries in keeping with the season of Christmas.
At the event, 28 staff that retired within the year were honoured for their meritorious service, the families of four others that lost their lives were given special recognition while 10 outstanding staff, one from each department were equally appreciated for distinguishing themselves in 2012.
Responding on behalf of the workers that were honoured, Mrs Roseline Okwuchukwu, thanked the Governor, the Chief of Staff and the Permanent Secretary for the recognition which she said would act as moral booster to the staff to put in their best.
