RSG Awards RSTV Equipment Contract, Soon
The Rivers State Government says contract for the supply of equipment for the Rivers State Television (RSTV) would be awarded before the end of this year.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Mrs. Jokotude Adamu said this in an interview with The Tide during the technical and commercial bidding exercise in Port Harcourt.
Mrs. Adamu said that the contract would be awarded as soon as the exercise is completed, stressing that at the end of the bidding process, a technical committee would be constituted to study the performances of the various contractors with a view to making recommendations.
The permanent secretary who is the chairman of the Ministry of Information and Communications Tenders Board said that all the prospective bidders were given the opportunity to make their presentations to rhw Board in respect of the contract.
She said that apart from looking at the terms of payment, the Board would work hard to ensure delivery and installation of the equipment once the contract is awarded. Mrs Jokotade commended the contractors for their cooperation. Seven companies initially bidded for the contract but three were disqualified after the first stage of the exercise.
