Oshiomhole Lauds Security Agencies In Edo
Edo Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, on Friday commended security agencies operating in Edo for helping to maintain peace and security in the state.
The governor gave the commendation after joining the security agencies to participate in their quarterly march, spanning 11.3km.
Oshiomhole disclosed that there were plans by the State Government to award the contract for the rehabilitation of Ekenwan road, leading to the 322 Artillery Regiment of the Nigerian Army.
“We are going to award the contract for the Ekenwan road gully erosion in the coming year,” he said, adding that the drawing of the project was ready.
He said the security agencies had used the quarterly march to remind the people that “walking is good to health. ’’
The Commander, 4 Brigade, Benin City, Brig-Gen. Obi Umahi, commended the officers for the keep-fit exercise, noting that no one faltered in both his team and the governor’s team.
“This reveals that the security agencies and the government team are in an excellent condition.
“The governor has come to show solidarity that he is behind us to ensure peace and security for the state.
“The reason for the keep fit exercise is multi-barrel. It exercises the soul, spirit and body, it is a show of force to miscreants and a demonstration of cooperation from the security agencies in the state” he added.
The march, which lasted for three hours forty-two minutes, commenced at 6 a.m. from the 4 Brigade Headquarters, GRA, through some major roads within the Benin metropolis and terminated at the Brigade Headquarters.
