DameAmaechi Seeks Understanding On Projects
Wife of the Rivers State Governor, Dame Judith Amaechi, has appealed to residents of Rivers State to be patient in the face of hardship occasioned by the transformation changes in the state.
Dame Amaechi made the call during the 33rd convention of Ladies of St. Mulumba Nigeria and conferment of award of Ambassador of Christ on her at the Holy Rosary Chaplaincy, Catholic Institute of West Africa Port Harcourt.
The Governor’s wife noted that it was the expectation of the people and the will to better their lot that inspired the government to put in place people oriented projects that have direct bearing on the citizenry.
According to her “President Jonathan during his visit to Port Harcourt observed different construction locations in state, this made him to declare that Governor Amaechi has turned the state to a construction site, this development is in the interest of the people and no doubt a lot of sacrifice will be made in this regard, please bear with the government on this development”.
She added that what the government requests of the Church and Rivers people was prayers to enable the government actualise its laudable plans for the people.
“I want to make a request, one major request is that the Church should pray for the government for wisdom to execute and complete its projects because it will benefit us all”, she said.
She promised to provide meaningful counsel and advice to her husband, the governor to enable him fulfill his electoral promises to the electorate.
Other recipients of the award of excellence are the wife of the President, Dame (Dr.) Patience Goodluck Jonathan, the Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi who was conferred with the Icon of Governance Award 2011 and Gender Sensitive Governor Award 2010.
Others include the Administrator of Greater Port Harcourt City Authority, Dame Aleruchi Cookey Gam, among others.
