‘Media, Key To National Dev, Good Governance’
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria FRCN, Mr Boyelayefi Debekeme, has said that the media is important to the nation’s good governance and development.
Debekeme said in Dutse on Tuesday in an interview with newsmen that the media was an indispensable tool of development.
Inspecting the facilities at the newly established F.M. radio station in Dutse, the chairman said the FRCN would start broadcasting from the new station very soon.
He said the inspection was to ensure that the facilities and equipment were on ground and expressed satisfaction with the level of work done on the project, especially the installation of the transmitters.
He enjoined the contractor handling the project to complete it within the time frame.
Debekeme, however, said he was not satisfied with some aspect of the work done.
He was accompanied on the tour by the Zonal Director of FRCN in Kaduna, Alhaji Ladan Salihu, Mrs Nneka Kanu, the Secretary of Legal Matters in the FRCN, Mr Oluwole Micheal, the Director of Supply and Finance and Alhaji Idris Kwami, a board member.
