LG Boss Harps On Human Capacity Dev.
The Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, Rivers State Hon. Maclean Uranta has promised that his administrator would give priority attention to the human resources development in the area.
Hon. Uranta made the promise at Opobo Town headquarters of the local government at the weekend, shortly after swearing-in the Vice Chairman, Senibo Patrick Alapugberisika, Council Secretary, Sunny Pepple and 11 councillors.
The chairman who also promised more development-oriented second tenure said his administration was poised to check poverty, and improve the infrastructure of the local government area.
As part of measures to provide the blueprint for the development of the area, Hon. Uranta hinted that a stakeholder’s forum would be convened next month, to chart a fresh course for the council.
“This time around, we will not do things haphazardly and we will want our people to make inputs on how they want to be empowered”, he remarked.
He listed some achievements made during his first tenure in office and said his second term in office would witness more improvements as he was poised to complete on-going projects in the area.
The Council boss assured that within the first 100 days in office, he would complete the council secretariat complex and make it conducive for workers”.
He thanked the Caretaker Committee for the commitment displayed in piloting the affairs of the council within its short term and landed the people for their support.
